Aloha nui loa, ʻŌmea! This is a new page for the MBN. There are links to three small books of poetry here. Most of them were written after 1965 and before 2010. Some were “annual retrospectives.” Some were written by a smart-alecky college student trying to major in English and Biology with minors in Music and Chemistry. Some were written as homework assignments. Some were written as experiences in developing fictional characters. Some, were … well, there’s just no excuse for some of them!
The first selection is called Poems to My Peace. That one has its own introduction, so there’s not much more to say here. These are poems I wrote so I’d have something I’d enjoy reading; and if I didn’t enjoy it, I could edit it.
The second selection is a little darker. It’s called Poetry for Going Home. I suppose the clearest statement I can make about this collection is that it contains the reflections of a guy who knows he’s never getting out of this alive. To me, that’s not a bad thing, and you’ll see what I mean if you read them. Just don’t take them too seriously. I didn’t.
The last selection is called Stuff ‘n’ Such. These are the least “excusable” in the bunch. The subtitle is “Er atI c and Erotique POETRY.” If you decide to read them, understand that they are more tongue-in-cheek than poetry. Fortunately there are not many of them (presently), so if you do read them, they won’t waste much of your time. And yes, the title page is supposed to be upside-down!
Perhaps you’ll find at least one that you enjoy. I got started on writing poetry in the Eighth grade. I had a pretty good stack of them by the time I was a Senior, but then someone stole my binder, and that was the end of those. I could only remember a couple of them, and the others might be best forgotten anyway. If you do find something you like and wish to share it, please be kind enough to tell the recipients where you found it.
Thanks for looking in on this little experiment.
Whatever, whenever, wherever, whoever, however, if ever, forever — at your service, Belovéd!

Temporarily I have a copy of a 2018 post stored here called Advent Series #2
